3RD. WOLDS WANDER CANCELLATION

As above implies I regret that we are having to cancel this event this year. Put simply with less than a month to go we have only 10 signed up entrants which is very much less than previous years. This is despite posts on other Region forums and a lot of ringing around previous entrants. To be fair to both Specialist Cars of Malton and the Triton we have to give them sufficient notice and we think that this is the time for the decision to be made ( I will be contacting them tomorrow ).

No cheques have been banked and I will return them by post tomorrow thereby ensuring that no-one turns up on the 23rd. expecting there to be an event!

My apologies for this, it could be that other regions putting on similar events has saturated the market or it could be that people are just cutting back on expenditure. The only good thing about this is that we have a route on the shelf now for the 2011 event!

I am aware that at least one person has booked a hotel and I hope this amount of notice ensures that no costs will be incurred - please let me know if that is not the case.

Thanks for those who entered,

Andrew Warner

or maybe that its the same day as one of the clubs main streamed events? Boxster and beyond at Silverstone... [:)]
Rest assured I would have supported this event had it not clashed...

I hope you do rerun the event..

Sadly we only had a limited choice of dates within a very busy calendar when it was organised and so there was a clash of dates. We have over 500 members in the Region not all of who would be going to the national events and so we believed it was right to offer a choice of events to the Region's members. I am sure that the national event is one of many reasons why we were unable to fill the event this year, but at least we now have an organised route in the bag for next year.

Definitely a shame but understood.

This may be a stupid question but is it worth doing something lower key for those of us who wanted to go? I know I still have the weekend free! Something a little lower key maybe?

Sorry to hear about this.

If anybody is dissapointed and wants to do a local tulip route rally R4 are also doing a wolds tour on the 18th July 2010 with Gantspeed as sponsors. Please email r.watkinson1@ntlworld.com if you are interested in attending as we would love to see you.

Perhaps next year we can do a south wolds and north wolds tour in a weekend as a combined regions event.

cheers
