I've finally crept past 4,000 miles in my Cayman S now. The car just gets better and better! The PDE was invaluable in appreciating the capabilities of the car.
No faults to report so far. There is a partition attached to the inside of the rear hatch that stops people looking into the boot and that rattles when going over bumps but no other rattles to speak of.
The engine is still tight and i'm hoping this loosens up over time. I remember on my MY03 Boxster that the engine was still tight at 10,000 miles! I want it to be more free revving.
No major stone chips on the paintwork (a couple of very minor chips but not worth doing anything about at the moment). The tyres still look in good condition with hardly any signs of wear. Again, I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my previous Boxster and I was still on the original set when I sold it at 19,500 miles! I doubt these will last anywhere near as long after my PDE!
The PCM has performed flawlessly and the TMC is very useful (the whole navigation system is identical to BMW's by the way and that has always been good). I'm still getting used to the seating position as it's never quite right depending on the time of day, the weather, etc.! The paintwork had stood up well to the elements as the car is parked outside all the time. It's been through hail and ferocious thunderstorms with no issues at all. No water leaks into the cabin either.
The air conditioning is very powerful and there are no issues with heat from the engine causing any problems.I'm itching to get some upgrades: the short shifter and the forthcoming PSE are at the top of my list at the moment.
All in all, easily the best car i've ever owned.
