Just to confirm, for those in any doubt, that the 996 is a marvellously practical vehicle.[]
I have now, on 3 separate occaisions, managed to fit 4 fully grown adults in my 996. The journeys were not far, obviously, but 15-20 mins is possible.
Both rear occupants have to have their legs splayed around the front seats, and it helps that as the driver, I am moderately proportioned (in the height department!). However, it proves that it can be done, although you need to be friendly.
Getting briefcases and coats in, was a little more tricky, especially since there isn't that much space with the 4-wheel drive, but the space behind the seats and the luggage compartment managed.
The car felt very stable, despite its 300Kg of occupants.
However, on one occaision the weather was cold, foggy and below 3 degrees and the car misted up. The air-con/climate control could not cope. (In the manual it says the compressor is switched out at 3 degrees, so there is no way to lower the humidity, only heating the air is possible).
