4 wheel alignment

I had mind done at Reading OPC when I had 4 new Tyres & Service done. Cheaper than Autofarm. From Memoery there were no extras. Had no Problems with them & you get 10% off as a PCGB Member. I did notice the difference after. Much better handling.

Normally dont go near OPC's as they are far to expensive, never thought they would be cheaper than Autofarm, and they are not cheap. What sort of price is it at Reading.

I found OPC cheaper than Autofarm (due to extra's) and Tognola the best of the lot, personal service, great prices, flexible, very knowledgeable and all the proper tools and he drives a 993 RS CS so really knows how to set up 993's (I work in Oxford and use Peter Tognola)

Thanks I will, though some of the stories I've heard would mean I would insist on watching. I will also give Tognola a ring as well.

I live near Witney and use Northways for (8 years) to look after mine
 
No experience of them, but Centre Gravity, a little further north, is the place to get this really sorted (do a search on here and you will find many good comments)
 
I've used them recently for my Carrera S and they did a fine job at a reasonable price.

The MD of Dick Lovett's F458 was in getting aligned when I went in. If he trusts them then that says a lot IMO

My car drives a lot nicer since the set up too which is a real bonus.

 
I took a boxster there several years ago I had at the time where the steering wheel wasnt centred, did full alignment & all was perfect too.
 
Whatever shop you plan to use, just make sure they have the tool to measure the Kinematic Toe on the rear axle.
This cannot be measured with normal alignment equipment.
 
That's a very good point and one I forgot all about. My Indy loaned me the tool and I took it with me to Imperial. They were planning on getting one but the cost is prohibitive for the number of 993's they have in.

Call them and see if they now have the gauge.
 
Many thanks to all for the replies and advice, I'll certainly check if Imperial have the Kinematic Toe measurement tool for the rear before using them. If not it looks like a drive up to Centre Gravity is on the cards.

I use Lovett's in Swindon. They're an OPC, so they've got all the gear, they've done mine several times over the years, about £100, I think although they might do a deal for a 993 ...

Steve Bull uses them. If it's just a 4 wheel alignment, I wouldn't bother driving to Warrington, or using a non specialist centre.



 
Oh ! That's a real surprise - I always thought they took it to Lovett's !

Maybe they changed at some point ?

I did have it done at Lovett's recently, when they fitted new HDs and top mounts.
 
Northways nr Reading have the kit

Used Imperials for my 993TT b4 they had the kit, would never go back or touch them with a barge pole, something was borrowed permanantly from my car by way of swop, I didnt notie for 3 days so couldnt prove it!!!!!
 
It wasn't a wheel centre cap by any chance? I had some bodywork done recently (not the same place) and luckily noticed straight away that one cap looked like an old milk bottle top.They said it must be the result of pressure washing and sent me a new one..but it made me wonder
