4 year major service prices

Somewhat miffed to find out too late that Solihull, one of my two local OPCs, would have carried out my four year service for around £120 less than the other. Next time I'll be sure to "˜phone round beforehand.[:'(]

Yes I know, but what really p----d me off was £58 to do a belt check when Solihull would have done it for free!

For those reasons amongst many others - mine is going to Porscheshop for its 4 year service, after the Nurbergring trip (Porscehball)

I've already started to negotiate my 4 year service later in the year [;)]
They certainly made the brake replacement a lot easier on the wallet... it got them the work as I thought I was going to have to get the [sm=spanner2.gif] out!!

Negotiate and Porsche were words rarely used in the same breath - or so I thought.

But it does appear that there is now considerable scope when it comes to servicing; apart from the £58 saving on the belt check already mentioned I could also have saved £40+ on spark plugs and even the Porsche quoted service price of £610 was negotiable to something between £500 and £590.

I think 'some' OPC are happy to work with owners and my dealings are through a relationship built up over the years with the service desk...
However, I will not buy another car from them after the way the sales treated me!- mind you never say never..... [:)]

Although I'm not such a long-term Porsche owner as yourself I did think I had a good relationship with the service desk; I guess this is why I feel so disappointed at the lack of response to my objections about unfavourable comparative costs.

Allan, I've never been able to deal with the 'other' OPC ( no naming and shaming [;)])
Nothing wrong with them at all but for me one person at the certain dealership has made the difference in the service side...
To be fair if he left then I'd have to reconsider... [:(]

We like to deal with people, do business with people and that is what I have found.

I had a small issue with the car, one response was were really busy the other was followed with- let me see for you.
The brakes this time was a cost issue, I have a cost that I find acceptable and they came within that cost, so they got the work.

I like you would feel let down, I may even go to the Club night at the 'other' dealership to see if anything has changed - I wasn't planning to originally.

Clive is correct that I know where I'll certainly speak to, to order my next Porsche.. a dealership and dealer principle that is way outside my area but upon visiting offered a service level and response that I think it is all about.
I had a radiator issue (Yeah, again!!) and they helped me enjoy my weekend in that location by assisting me as much as possible.
Having spoken to the DP since I find him to be as passionate about Porsche ownership as I do and on the same wavelength as many of us here..
The main thing that impressed me is that from the outside he'd have no chance of selling me a Porsche due to the distance yet they still gave 110% - for me that counts a lot.

I feel I can speak openly as I am far away from the Midlands.
It sounds like Solihull OPC is deserving a special mention. I have noticed a few facts from other threads as well.
Is it because the dealership is run like we all expect a Porsche dealership to be managed, or are they doing things above and beyond.
Please tell as I feel the forum should know if somebody is doing a great job! If there are negative issues, say so, to get a balanced view.
As you can tell, I am passionate about people going the extra mile.
