40 years of Front Engine Porsches - this year - any celebrations planned ?

Greetings

I've read elsewhere that this year is 40th Anniversary of FE/Transaxle Porsches.

I thought there would have been a celebration of some kind, e.g.. a meeting trying to get as many FE cars together as possible.

But I can't find anything ?

We should do something - shouldn't we ? (& good marketing of our cars [:)]

Yes Mick, we certainly should [8D]!! How about using the Brighton Hoon on the 26th of JOON as the 40th anniversary meet? We could fill Madeira Drive from end to end and, I can get the usual commemorative plaques made up include this transaxle milestone [8D]!! What say you all???? By the way, congrats on your first post [:D].

I have just had a great idea. I could get my mate Brian ( Brian's Cafe' of Madeira Drive fame) to make a special 40th Anniversary, Chocolate and Salmonella cake!! Now that would be fun [:D].....[:'(].....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:!!!!

Flogging a dead horse Pete - engine at the correct end, the hair dryer brigade will not stand for it. I've attended 2 "FE" national events in the past, both of which were non-events as far as FE cars were concerned. maybe your idea of joining the Brighton Hoon has more merit.

Yep, I think you might be right there Chris'. It was only an idea. I haven't had any interest with the Brighton Hoon from any of the other transaxle/fe sections on this forum and, only limited interest from the "faithful" of the 944 section [8|]. I go to a lot of trouble to organise the Brighton meet, not to mention personal expense and, for all that, it doesn't seem to attract that many people? Maybe it's me or, maybe I'm not doing something I should be doing? Who knows?

HI Guys PCGB main event is at Silverstone classic in July, Porsche Uk will be displaying those front engine cars restored by main agents and will be judged . I am trying to get our cars parked up close by. And PCGB will have selected parking on there site adjacent to Porsche UK. Don't think we will be short of numbers there and not forgetting Register Rendezvous in September an event I am organising exclusive to PCGB at Kedleston Hall nr Derby, 800 acres, stately home etc etc and it's free rgds Ken Coad that's sorted .....968 register secretary

The BRSCC Porsche Championship will be looking to celebrate the 924's 40 years with a 40 minute race at some stage this season. We've got a good number of them racing for us this season including some novices. Would be nice to get a 40-car grid with cars from other series such as CSCC but I think 30 might be a more achievable target.

My event is free too Ken, including a free breakfast [8|]? Hardly anyone turns up. Why do I bother [:(]!
