40k 996

I know this is a pretty vague question... but what kind of 996 can I expect for 40k?

I've been looking around the usual web sites and there seems to be such a difference in price for seemingly similar cars.

I will selling my 02 model 51 plate C2 Cab with 65k miles. It has the benefit Porsche extended warranty and many extras and will be asking £36000. If not interested in this particular car you can see for 40k privately you will get more than that. My car is absolutely pristine and with ot one thing wrong with it.Tip.

One that will be worth only 30k pretty soon [;)]

sorry, couldn't resist...goes off to slap own hand[&:]

thats the cheapest ive seen about by 4k? is that because of the 50k on the clock or is it not an official uk car? does anyone know this car?

A friend of mine is selling a 53 plate C2, manual that has just had a brand new engine and he wants 40k. I am not sure of the mileage but I don't think it's very high. He was offered £36k by his local OPC (east London) as a p-ex or sraight purchase.

Malc, this ties in with the engine prob thread, do you know why his engine needed replacing & is he a PCGB member ?

Cheers

Hi David

He's not a PCGB member. In fact it was his second new engine, you can probably understand that his confidence in his 996 has been sorely tested and he is now planning to move on.
As both engines were done under warranty and as his mechanical knowledge is v limited, I can't be 100% certain of the causes. I believe that the first failure resulted in a holed block and the second was a crank/main bearing issue.
