460BHP monster convertible - anyone on here?

I am looking to get the brakes sorted on my 964 and will use a garage local to me that has on-car brake disc skimming (I thing the brake discs are warped, as does my normal mechanic). Never used the garage before. Then I get talking to them and it turns out they have built a 460BHP 944 convertible - pictures of said beast can be seen following this link:

Sounds like an awesome technical achievement and wondered if it belonged to anyone on here? Looks more show car than track car but assuming it reliably puts out 460 BHP I'm impressed. Has traction control fitted apparently (which I assume means it has ABS - has my technical knowledge gone awry?)!

Looks really nice.

Would like to hear more about the camshaft used, apparently with solid lifters, and the type of ECU used.

New sebro/pagid (can't remember which) where about £60 each for fronts for my M030 equipped Turbo from ECP/CP4L

is this in prep for Spa mate????  [:)]

Sadly not. A combination of 2013 Spa snow (read 2014 risk of snow) and 2014 budget (read spent too much buying a 944 in 2013) means I'll have to give it a miss this year.

Discs aren't dear and they certainly aren't anything like expensive enough to skim.

That was my first thought though the vented, cross drilled sports... discs on the 964 are a little more than the £60 quoted elsewhere. Oddly the discs (Sebro) are only maybe 2500 miles old. Having looked into it, disc warping on the 964 appears to have been common on the cars when new - something to do with the hubs and discs expanding and contracting at different rates. Eventually Porsche got fed up of putting new discs on cars and chose to skim them on the vehicle.

granted my car is hardly new but has only 96,000 miles so the possibility that it's suffering the 'old' problem exists. You know I'm no mechanic so I'll have everything checked out (a free offer by the garage) and see what is found. With the calipers having been refurbished just 5 years ago I'll be disappointed if there is a fundamental problem. That said, owning cars has elation and disappointment thrown in in equal measure!

cheers

shame buddy............next year!

Love to. I've made both my cars promise to behave this year and keep the bills down!

Any track days planned (other than Spa)?

Is it possible to hijack your own thread....?

Cheers
