4th August Porsche Centre Hatfield Open Evening & Concours
From 6:30pm onwards we will be holding an open evening at Porsche Centre Hatfield and members of all regions are invited.

Concours.
In an effort to give more members a better chance of winning only the external part of each car will be judged and the categories will be...
- GT3s
- Over 10 year old Porsches (registered before 1st August 1999).
- 5 to 10 year old Porsches (registered between 1st August 1999 and 1st August 2004).
- Under 5 year old Porsches (registered after 1st August 2004).
In addition there will be...
- Porsche Centre Hatfield's Best Porsche award.
- Premier Bodyshops Best bodywork award.

Impartial judges will select the winners and presentations will be made at about 9pm.

GT3 Display.
Members with GT3s are requested to park them in front of the showroom to form a display ant make it easier for the concours judges. If you are the proud owner of a GT3 please bring it along and help us make up a special display at Porsche Centre Hatfield on our Concours Club Night. 10 of the 29 recorded GT3s in R21 are already preparing to be there. Please join them regardless of which region you are in.

Batacks Challenge.
Porsche Centre Hatfield will present a prize to the highest Batacks score of the evening.
What is this challenge? Ok, we start with an upright wall about 2 meters x 2 meters with large push buttons on it. Contestants pay a £1 donation to Keech Cottage Children's Hospice to stand in front of the wall and press each button when it lights up. Pressing the lit button turns it out and another button lights up. The contestant that "turns out" the most buttons in a fixed time wins the prize. In the event of a draw there will be a play-off to determine the winner.

It looks easy and is fun so bring plenty of £1 coins for a good cause.

Raffle.
We will be holding a raffle to raise funds for Keech Cottage Children's Hospice. Members have already donated prizes including a Solar Powered Trickle Charger, a Porsche compressed air bottle with sealing compound, a leather bound Porsche note book and 2 Porsche key 2GB USB sticks. A brand new Wonder Wheels Cleaning Kit (http://www.ciao.co.uk/Wonder_Wheels_Cleaning_Kit__5334056) has been promised on the night and donation of any items that would make suitable raffle prizes would be appreciate. I also have a set of new mats for left hand drive Boxster that have limited appeal. Anyone interested? please make me an offer and remember the proceeds are going to Keech Cottage Children's Hospice.

Service Area Tours.
During the evening there will be regular organised tours of the service area with demonstrations. The endoscope, a sort of Gastroscope for cars, is very interesting to see in action. These tours will provide an opportunity to view the service areas and chat to members of staff about any potential problems with your Porsche you may be concerned about.

Complimentary Buffet.
There will be a lovely complimentary buffet and drinks courtesy of The Porsche Centre, Hatfield.

Policing our Roads.
We are hopeful that an instructor in tactical and pursuit from Hertfordshire Constabulary will be on site to talk to us about life in the fast lane. The Officer assigned this duty has experience in many aspects of policing including stolen car crime and dealing with bereaved relatives.

How to get there.
Directions to Porsche Centre, Hatfield, AL10 9UA
The Porsche Centre Hatfield is just off Comet Way (A1001) about 1 mile from J4 of A1(M).
