5 cylinder Boxster ??

HI all, just hoping I can get some advice on the following problem. Finished work about 12 days ago, washed and put the Boxster away in the garage, go to start it today and she was running on 5 cylinders, took it down the road and I got a cel, this turned into a flashing cell, got home and parked her up. Came back later and she started up perfectly and ran on all cylinders.
My diagnosis is dampness in a coil pack, and unburnt fuel has upset the O2 sensors. My question is, does anyone agree with my assessment, and can I clear the CEL by disconnecting the battery. I'm obviously going to need to look at the coil packs to investigate further. There were no horrible mechanical sounds at any time. 70k on the clock and probably original coil packs.

It's not an uncommon issue and there are several threads on the forum about this subject. The CEL will usually extinguish after a few miles (anywhere between 1 - 30) of running once the Engine Management computer eventually recognises a fault condition is not actually present. I've had several coil packs replaced which seem to be prone to cracking and thus causing tracking misfires. Even after replacing most of the coil packs and fitting a new set of plugs it still sometimes happens to me particularly after heavy rain and the car has been standing for a few days. It's always a good idea to run the car after washing to dry out the electrics and also to dry out the brakes to avoid disc corrosion.
