5-digit M-Codes

Hola Compadres,

here and there discussions about 5 digit M-codes surfaced. I tried digging into the topic a bit deeper by the means of the holy google, various Porsche Forums and the local Porsche dealer. Got to say that I didn't get very far ... until recently.

A couple of weeks ago I bought my new baby, a RS N/GT that had two 5-digit M-codes on the VIN sticker inside the bonnet. I sent a request for a birth certificate to Porsche Stuttgart and enquired especially some information about the matter of the 5-digit M-codes and, .... finally received some answers. They decoded the 5-digit code by omitting the last digit as follows:

code 13601 = 1360 - Überrollkäfig geschweißt (roll cage welded)
code 14181 = 1418 - Entfall Beifahrersitz (omission of passenger seat)

Maybe the matter enthuses someone. I would luv to know wether there are more 5-digit codes out there.

Greetings from Cologne / Dsheermaanie
Klaus

Cant help you with your codes, but would love to hear more about the car you bought, colour, spec history, what do you plan to do with it? Oh and pictures please!

Hey Hugh, dear All,
- rubystone red
- DoB 8.4.1992
- delivered through Porsche South Africa / Johannesburg
- never road legally registered
- only used for minor gentlemen races
- 6308km on the clock

The little beauty smells, feels and looks as if it just left Weissach - no kiddin! I flew down there to inspect the car myself. From what I have seen ... except for regular service, not a single screw had been touched. Everything is where it outght to be. 100% original. Porsche confirmed matching numbers last week.

Maybe I will take it to some minor races / club events. Unless at gunpoint, I don't think I will ever sell it.

Cheers
K

Sounds like a lovely car, and very little use, so very original. And a great colour to have too. I note it has driving lights in the front instead of cooling ducts, did it come like that?

I think there are a few of us saying we will never sell! And who have the same idea, light use, but track focussed. I'll be looking for some gentleman series to take part in.

I racing the caterham with these guys in Aug. http://www.fisc-eurotour.org/Nordschleife-GP-Circuit.html Keen to see what the rest of the grid is like, and how the racing fairs, might be appealing for a Spa, Zolder style outing. They seem to focus on non-contact element of racing, which appeals.
