50th Anniversary event

More details in this month's Porsche Post to go with the info on the sticky above.

I would like to echo Barry's comments in the last three editions of the PP. We've got all the fixed points in place for the best ever Club National event, with the three venues over three days. What we're missing is what people want laid on for them; there's plenty of time, and with the conference in a couple of weeks it would be nice to go with some ideas. Sadly, there's been a total lack of suggestions coming forward. [&o]

There will be no possible excuses for complaining after the event that something was missing!

I hope you get some good suggestions before the conference. I won't be going to the Anniversary events, so have no opinions!

I would like to see something along the TIPEC route where there is items to interest the members of the family who arent into Porsches i.e. like Eynsham hall a few years ago.

I was looking forward to the Gala Dinner until I found out it was £75/person

The Sunday is the "family" day, based around the RAC in Cirencester. Essentially we have a site that about the size of Belgium to do what we want with, what did you have in mind?

A register orientated rally to somewhere?

A possibility. There has been talk of a rally between Cirencester and Silverstone on the Saturday, but that's only going to be of interest to people staying overnight on the Friday. Maybe the other way would be better, as many Silverstone attendees will be travelling back to Cirencester?

What about a "Rutland" style gathering at Silverstone? I guess a lot of us will be there anyway, and travelling from all over, but we might be able to get all the cars parked in front of the Experience Centre. If anyone's been there, they'll know how hard it is to get cars lined up in front of a circular building! [:D]

Wont there be register parking anyway? If not it sounds like a good idea, something 944 orientated is always a winner for me.

I like the idea of a 944 gathering at one location and if not a rally at least a convoy to the next. Once we get to our little piece of Belgium some sort of display extolling the virtues not only of the cars themselves but our rather fine register would be good. Plus a family barbeque and /or perhaps some non car related entertainment as Gordon suggests.

Also just wondering if it might be good to pool the combined numbers of not only 944's but also the 924's and 968's to put together a Front engined themed gathering to really make a splash..

ETA should probably have mentioned 928's in the front engined gathering idea but they do seem to be somewhat semi detached from the rest of us...
