54 - 997 2S Bouncy Rear End

Hi All
Hoping someone can offer some advice to a novice here.
I have a 54 997 with 55k on the clock and I was recently advised that the lower rear suspension arms were corroded and needed replacing hence this was carried out by the garage I bought it from. At this time the ride was fine, everything did as it should have done.
I now have it back with both lower rear suspension arms replaced and the ride is very very different, the rear is very bouncy. If you press the back down when stationary their is no movement, however when driving, any bump and the rear is bouncy all over the place.

Anyone experienced this before any ideas?????
I have told it might be my shocks that now need replacing but hoping for advice here.

Thanks in advance everyone.

cheers

Matt

Almost certainly shock absorber related, but this is not something that normally happens suddenly, unless the car has been subjected to a heavy landing etc. Check to verify the shocks and the anti-roll bar have been reconnected; also there are no leaks from the shocks and the springs are fully located.
If it was OK before the work was done, then I'd be inclined to take it back and get them to check it out FOC.
Regards,
Clive.

We have experienced a similar sensation when we played with the electronic exhaust valve (another story...)

It was as if the PASM went into an error state and set the shock absorbers to super-soft. Once reconnected everything went back to normal. Sounds similar to your description.

Why it has gone this way is a different question ... and one for the technician to answer.

Odd !
Clive remarked it may well be the shockers.
To a lesser degree I had the same at the front of mine last year and the solution was to replace.
That was at 38,000 on a 2005 produced car. All other suspension parts were fine.
