Hi I have a Boxster and it has trouble 90% of the time going into 5th gear I have to flick over to triptronic to click into 5th gear. Triptronic is working perfectly problem only on auto. I am a female so would like you guys to give me any suggestion dont want to get ripped of by a garage Thanks

You could try changing the transmission fluid.
Failing that i know it sounds weird but try changing the MAF . i replaced the gearbox and it still wouldn't change but when i changed the MAF problem solved.
Hope this helps

Hi
Give Tony Ruggles at Carrera Engineering, runs his own garage, on 01992 892333 he is the technical guy for the Boxster register and may have some suggestions as well.

Hi if you google Wheeler dealers Porsche boxter s in that episode they have the same problem as you and they tell you what to do Darren

Thanks guys for all your suggestions I have now solved the problem it turned out that one of my front tyres was very slightly smaller than the other which was fooling the gearbox in to thinking it was going round a corner so there for didnt go into 5th I know this sounds crazy but I changed tyre and now works perfect
