hi all, anyone removed the 6CD (stack)unit on Cayman gen 1 but managed to keep the sat nav working? When the cables are removed from CD unit located in front luggage area the sat nav does not work but the radio works normally just looking to remove some weight as my car is mainly for track use.

You will need to complete the fibre optic loop (the two orange cables you disconnected) for the navigation drive to be able to communicate with the PCM head unit. You should also get it re-coded to remove the CDC from the list of components. Otherwise you'll get an error message every time it starts up.

Ok thanks Ruchard looks like I will need to take it into specialist for the this & recoding, or just use a Tom Tom when required. Thanks for reply

You can get a fibre optic bridge plug which will complete the loop. I've seen them in the US at [link=http://suncoastparts.com/product/999L65009140B.html]http://suncoastparts.com/product/999L65009140B.html[/link]. It shows the part number, so you might try giving it to a Porsche Centre to see if they can supply one.

If you are anywhere near me, I'd be happy to do the coding for you.
