600hp, 7000rpm

I'll have owned the car two years in February. I bet I've only done a couple of hundred miles in it.

Says it all for me. Whilst it's incredible to read what people do to the cars, I can't imagine why you'd own something that begs to be used, and not use it at least a little bit!

Am I unusual in actually struggling to keep under the 6K miles limit on my classic insurance? I only use the car for weekends, evenings and the odd longer run, and it's often left at home when we need to take dogs, luggage, tools etc., yet I still can't restrict it to the 5K that would be cheaper. No you ar are not alone Paul if I didn't have the 944 to fall back on, if you can call driving a fantastic rare turbo cab falling back, I would easily exceed to 6k on my 996. Luckily my 944 has unlimited mileage as in a std non classic policy . I had the 996 out the yesterday in the dank and bloody hell talk about charge density!

That is a nice build ! But this one has a bigger Turbo and will even chew up Foxes , cat and Dogs that cross it path !!

Crazy what you can achieve when money is no object ;)

Thx for linking it Simon,

J.C - i think many people have spent more money and achieved much less of a result, my gut feeling is this project was engineered by a "Cosworth" expert and when the clever detail engineering is applied to the M44/5x the results speak for themselves.

Perhaps there will be a new era of 951 tuning, where our cars trade some torque for a greater spread of power. Nice thought.

George , are you referring to the Red 944 with the V8 Turbo engine on the link I posted ? Or the white S2 mate ?

I thought the Red 944 was a little overcooked ? just a tab !

I like the white S2 Turbo , it rocks mate !!! I have wanted to build a 3.0L Turbo for a while and if things go to plan next year ,

I may indulge or go to Syria for a battle , not sure yet :)

I think it's fantastic what Tim has achieved so far. More power to him. Perhaps it takes someone from outside of the generally very conservative U.K. 944 world to apply their knowledge and make some serious inroads on performance upgrades. I wish him every success.

JC, i'm referring to the link Simon put up

A V8 in a 951....why..... when a compact, light, reliable, simple, inline 4 can make such power?

If someone had the wit to do this work back in the day, the 951 model would have been unstoppable.
