'64 Plate Cayenne 4.2 V8 - New brake pads and disks - approximate cost?

Hi All. Got an MOT coming up and wanted to budget in advance. I was told on my last MOT that I'll probably need new pads and disks on the next MOT. Just wandering what sort of price I'm looking at for this. I can't remember what they said last time but remember thinking "wow!".
Can anyone give me a rough guide please?
Thanks

Main dealer or independent?

I think most main dealers can quote via an online query - depending on where you are, OPC prices can vary quite a bit!

It'll be independent. I've had a quote for £500 for front pads and discs so far.
Eek!

The two areas that you really don’t want to skimp on is brakes and tyres.

its always worth shopping around to get a reasonably good comparison, but in my experience the cheapest is very rarely the best regarding stopping products.

If you want a better idea of product pricing you could always put your reg into one of the many car part websites, that way you’ll have a better idea on parts alone.

Totally agree £500 is very cheap especially if that’s a fitted price, parts alone can vary between £300 & 500.
