Had the same thought myself. Happy to take you on a reasonable ride with a bit of off road but mainly on-road around the MK/Bux area to see how the stamina is going ..
Private mail me with a convenient meeting point for you over your way i.e. Stacey Bushes or Stony Stratford direction..

If we make it early, it's better than late.
How about you MK boys travel to the sticks of "oop north" - e.g. Bedford !
There is semi-interesting route from Bromham, through Bedford, (via River) along the disused railway towards Wilstead. This pretty little route takes in a quaint little cafe called The Danish Camp - it is hidden in the countryside, by the side of a river, welcomes bikers and serves good food and drink.
End to end ? 2hrs - and we could easily add a loop or 2 to get the miles high.

Graham and I have provisionally set a time of 7:30AM on the bridge that splits the two halves of AbbeyHill golf course in Milton Keynes as we were the only two expressing an interest (he probably just took pity on me ).
We are confirming things today but your ride sounds like a nice change (for me at least) so I'm easy either way.
Give me a call on my mobile if I dont get to you later on. 07961 420817
Also anyone else who's interested ring me to confirm where and when we will be starting from.
Cheers

It went really well. According to Graham we did about 30-32 miles around the villages west of MK. I think we were about 2 1/2 - 3 hours in total. Mainly on road but Graham managed to find some hub deep water and mud to plough through []
Hopefully Steve can sort us out a route for next Saturday. Steve can you?
Graham would like to start early and thats fine by me too. We pushed off at 7.30 this time.
Cheers

If anyone is interested we will meet at 9am at the (lower) crossroad - junction of road from bow brickhill, golf course turning/sandy lane.
Should be fast paced since at this stage we are all ready for our 6 hour marathon pedal in 3 weeks time! [&:]

Good luck with your training for the big ride. Wish I was able to make it but I know my limitations.
Yesterday I dropped car off for service at Northampton and rode back to Caldecotte 1 3/4 hours so I am getting there. Another couple of weeks and I will tackle the Brickhills.

Good outing - thanks to "lightning AJ" for collecting me when I went all Pete Tong.

We didn't have a camera to hand to snap Brian Mac falling off and breaking his collar bone with a first class headbutt to the ground - so I found the best I could from the archives.
Hope you get well soon Brian and well done for making it home without tears...
Will it be fixed by the 6th ?

For those that weren't so lucky and could not be at Barbury Castle Country Park at 5.00 pm on Saturday here is what you missed as Steve undressed for the journey home.
Thanks to everyone who came - good ride !! Who's up for another in the New Year ?

From Andy's write up it comes across as a marathon adventure and I'm guessing the only reason that Andy didn't have an off is because he hasn't gambled on SPD pedals yet - when he does I'll be the first to buy a ticket to spectate.
