As Andriko said, if you can find out the offset of your current wheels (might be in the handbook?), you should be able to figure out if the new wheels will fit by going to the following website (found by Paul S), which calculates the differences between different wheels:
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
This site will tell you how much closer or farther away the inside edge of the wheel will be to the strut, plus how far in or out the outside edge of the wheel will sit compared to your current wheels.
and this one lists all the 'standard' 944 offsets year by year:
http://www.cantonia.com/wheel_offset.html
As you'll see from the second site, if the 7J x 15 teledials are from a 944, the offset will usually be 52.3mm.

I'd had a look at www.cantonia.com, and they only list M030 option at the rear of the 924S, which made me suspicious. 7" wide does work on the front (so other posters have told me), but I think not on teledials which appear to all have the same offset.
I've checked for the width/offset markings on the wheel, but there are none. This seems to be something which has appeared on later wheels, probably when the factory realised owners were going to be swapping wheels around. Back in the 80's it didn't seem to be so prevalent, but with the choices and variety now available I guess it makes sense to put the info. somewhere easily accessible.
