hi Gary I think you may have connected something incorrectly when dealing with the rear lights. Check the fuse chart on the fuse box, or in the hand book if this is still with the car. Failing that ,contact Nick Moss or Roger Bray, they both advertise in PP good luck Have fun Paul Kelley

The more i think about it i reckon the spade i connected was not meant for the housing (god knows what its for though) ?? I gonna take that off the housing tomorrow and see what happens ? thanks

The fuse that does the indicators and the handbrake warning keeps blowing......the only thing i can think of (just thought of this in the shower), is that today i replaced the rear lenses...and while is was there is took out the light housing and there was a brown circular spade (thought is was the earth for the housing) so i screwed this to the housing when i put the housing back.....is this right or not?....its the only thing i can think of thats possibly changed ???

Also.....the fuse that does the luggage lights, clock and interior lights also keeps blowing (seperate from above).....the clock does not work neither does the interior lights but the luggage compartment lights do, but something keeps blowing the fuse.....any ideas ??

I HATE ELECTRICS !!!!!!

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

i took the spade off the housing and hey presto.......we are all working again......great news.....but where the hell does the spade belong !?!?!?!? Cross that bridge if i come to it

I've got a spare female spade connection (with brown wire) in the front compartment near the wiper mechanism (near side). . . . perhaps you could connect yours to mine[:D] Phil

ORIGINAL: 66ghia i took the spade off the housing and hey presto.......we are all working again......great news.....but where the hell does the spade belong !?!?!?!? Cross that bridge if i come to it
Disconnect and ignore. My kinda maintenance [;)]

My saga continues....................Im back to square 1 !!!..........the fuse blows when i press the brake pedal.....its fine when the indicators and lights are one ????

That's easy to cure; don't brake. It is good to remember the economy driver's maxim "The accelerator pedal uses petrol but the brake pedal wastes it"

Like where you are coming from.......if I take the brake bulbs out then the indicators might work !?!

I would recommend a trip to an auto electrician . . . . and take a wiring diagram with you (this link doesn't appear to work on my computer, but it might on yours [link=http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/Electrical/911_electrical_1971_Part-1.jpg]http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/Electrical/911_electrical_1971_Part-1.jpg[/link] ) Phil

Gonna give it one more go myself...then gonna call in some help !! I got a giant sized plastic coated wiring diagram from a guy on e bay.....well worth the money

My saga update.........the brake fuse situation is now sorted, it turned out to be the bulb was not sitting snuggly in it's holder. It does now and no fuse has blown. The original post is still a problem. The luggage lights work but the fuse occasionally keeps blowing....the interior lights do not work neither does the clock (all run off the same fuse). If the interior lights and clock does not work......was is causing the luggage lights to keep blowing?. I really don't want to get a electron involved as I'm on a mission and want to sort this myself !!

Im refusing to spend money on a electrician !!!!..........brake light drama is sorted.....reversing lights - need to check switch....clock - no idea !!.........interior lights - ive taken the four door switches out (two have blue wires connected and one has brown, the other one (assume should be brown also) is not connected, how the hell do i find the wire in that space ?????????????????????????

In the good old days of not so long ago, the rough end of the motor trade would have used these "difficuties" as an excuse to torch it.[:D]
