718 Cayman - PCM with satnav and Apple CarPlay

Hi guys,

I've been looking at the configurator and would I be right in saying that you can't have Apple CarPlay if you have the navigation module?

It seems Applec CarPlay is part of the Connect Module and when I spec this then choose the navigation module it takes the Connect off.

Thanks,
Richard.

I had the same problem on configuring my new 718 Cayman S which has the PCM nav module specified.

After consulting my OPC, it seems you need to select Connect Plus at £801.00 if you are speccing the nav module.

Before I finally sign off my factory order, I shall check this again. Seems like another ploy by Porsche marketing suits to milk the customer dry.

I shall report back later when my order is signed off. I have not yet been allocated a delivery slot by my OPC for the Cayman S.

Are other customers also awaiting a confirmed delivery slot for this particular model I wonder.

Hi

I've been lucky to get my Cayman in for a September lockdown. I understand OPCs are getting about 4 of both models a month. Expecting my delivery November. We all must be crashing the configurator my issue is the colour pref at moment is sapphire blue. Hope those ordering are enjoying the moment.

I was also told by my OPC to expect delivery of my Cayman S in November.

I'll be contacting my OPC later this week to get the latest update.

I also had many versions of the colour and spec sampled on the configurator.

Tried 3 colours/wheels combinations before I finally settled on Graphite Blue/20" silver Carrera Sport alloys. Sapphire Blue was also one of my considered options.

That's great, if you could let me know I'd appreciate it. It does seem like a con to have to pay for Connect Plus, if that's the case I'll just spec the Connect and use Google maps for my nav.

Do you think the map would appear on the dial in the dash pod as it does if you have the nav?
