718 Cayman S UK delivery slots.

I have a new build 718 Cayman S on order from my local OPC. The order was placed at the beginning of June.

Today I have been informed by sales that I am next on the list for a 718 Cayman S. The bad news is that apparently my OPC are unsure whether Porsche Germany are allocating any further build slots for the Cayman S UK before the end of the year. Effectively meaning my new car delivery is now likely to be early 2017.

Anyone else experiencing extended delivery delays on new factory order UK Cayman S models?

Brian

Hi Brian I also have a new Cayman S on order with Porsche Colchester I have been given a build slot of 3rd quarter in October and was informed about a month ago that my vehicle should be their first S delivered. Haven't heard anything to the contrary about deliverys as yet. Will keep you posted regards john

Thanks John.

I'm resigned to the fact it's now looking like a January delivery for me. Be worth the wait though......I'm hoping! I'll be comparing it to my CR manual, now sold.

Please let me know your impressions of the new car. Mine is a PDK, haven't seen any press reviews of the Cayman S PDK yet.

I had a similar scenario with my 981 Cayman S PDK. I ordered it June 2015 for September/October 2015 delivery. I was advised in September 2015 that there were no build slots available and delivery would be 2016. At this time I was concerned as I wanted a flat 6 and had heard whispers of the impending flat 4. I did eventually take delivery 1st April 2016. I guess it's the way of Porsche and I'm sure you'll enjoy it once it arrives.

Hi

I've ordered a Cayman build Sept/Oct this year. I understand the garage only had about 7 cars allocated to the end of the year. Watch the price doesn't start to go up!.

Well, Porsche are built to order and customer spec' so you'll not be seeing photos in the press of fields of unsold cars, the downside is that discounts are rare and sometimes they can't deliver when you hoped. Enjoy the anticipation and the car even more when you receive it! Make sure the spec is really what you want.

Thanks all. My patience is being stretched, but I'm used to that.

I have the spec all sorted. It's my fourth Cayman, so I know what works and what doesn't......for me.

Chased up my dealer on my Cayman S order placed first week in May, sadly they are now talking about a new year delivery after initially suggesting it may be in first batch around October. Have told me that I am next on the list for the dealers next Cayman S slot.

First Cayman so really frustrated with the delay!

Demo cars due to arrive at end of month, per dealer there will be no Cayman Launch as 'it is too similar to the Boxster' - seems to add insult to injury !

Hi Brian, I've just had a chat with my dealer and they have confirmed that my new Cayman 718 S PDK is in the pre production stage and will be at the dealership in UK by the 11th November, their first Cayman! I have also just received an email confirming this, still all looking good! will post a picture once collected. Regards John..
