718 Fuel Lines

Shocking reading that this new model has so many issues requiring a recall and the seriousness of the fire risk recall, I do hope Porsche expedite this for all new owners of the 718.
Glad I snaffled the GTS!

Catastrophic in this case but it looks as though Porsche are on the case since it appears to affect 911s as well as Boxsters and Caymans.

Because it's safety-related, I'm sure that owners of affected vehicles will be notified promply. A Nyloc-type nut replacement should do the job.

I checked with my OPC about this worrying recall.

My 718 Cayman S, built in Stuttgart, November 2016, is not on the list of affected vehicles.

Not as yet, Archie.

Maybe I should request that, and before Knockhill, but I'm not optimistic of success.

According to the Pistonheads website, replacing the 718 fuel collection pipe locating screws entails dropping the engine block at least 45mm to facilitate access to the screws. This takes up to 4.5 hours labour time on the ramp.

Today I checked the Porsche recall website and entered my car's VIN. No open recalls are applicable to my vehicle apparently.

I hear that some 991.2 Carrera models are also included in this recall.

Meantime I'll carry on driving my car as normal.
