718 GT4 wheels for 981 GT4?

Hi,
I’m looking at getting a second set of wheels and the 718GT4 wheels seem to be more cost effective than the 981 version.

My local dealer has confirmed that the size and offsets are identical, but for some reason they don’t know if the stud patterns are in the same place and therefore whether they will fit. Has anyone used the 718GT4 wheels on their 981GT4 that can confirm one way or the other?

Thanks

Richard

I believe that they are the same PCD

When I was investigating `same` at the local OPC I was informed - warned that the 718`s wheels were not approved for fitment to a 981 ... could result in a warranty issue if applicable to you

In checking between models I note that the wheel bolt torque settings are different ...

981 GT4 @ 160 Nm

718 GT4 @ [strike]130 Nm[/strike] ... EDIT

Andrew, I doubt the 718 torque level you quoted, what is your source?

I ask because way back (987 maybe) it changed from 130 to 160 and I thought had remained at the higher level.

I can confirm 718GT4 torque is 160NM.

If you find that the 718GT4 wheels do fit to the 981GT4, please see my earlier post or in the 'For Sale' section, as I am selling a set of 718GT4 wheels.

3 are perfect, but one of the fronts has scuffed spokes where it toppled over (the wheel, not the car!).Perfect for track days.

Good luck

An internet site for all such wheel hub, tyre size, bolt sizes etc ...

[strike]Aye 987.2 was 130 with [/strike] EDIT

981 at 160 Nm ... no lube` either

Good to have the 718 confirmed by an owner ... thank you

Andrew,

The recommended torque for my 2009 987.2 CS is 130Nm with lubricated threads, but later on in the 987.2 cycle (which would have included the CR) it was increased to 160Nm without lubrication, which was then carried-over to the 981 and 718.

Jeff

Thanks for all the responses.

@penguinman I’ve seen your post on the wheels but you are an awfully long way away from where I am up in Yorkshire!
