718 wheel fitment?

I've already tried it.

I test fitted my track day Cayman R 19" Spyder alloys onto my 718 Cayman S. The offsets were different, but on the ok side. The Spyder alloys gave a wider stance and lowered the ride height of the car. This was apparent when letting the car down on the trolley jacks. I had to jack it up again and place 10mm floor tiles under the wheels to enable the jacks to be removed. Most notable difference was the rolling circumference of the 19"Spyder alloys compared to the 20" Carrera Sport alloys. The 20" alloys were over 7cm greater in circumference than the 19" Spyder alloys. Gearing would be substantially lower with the 19" Spyder wheels compared to the 20" Carrera Sports. Both wheel sizes had the same tyre sections and profiles front and rear. I cannot say whether the smaller diameter wheel sizes less than 19" would also fit the 718. I would be wary of brake calliper clearances. The 718 brakes are big.

As a result of this test, I ended up selling my 19" Spyder alloys, complete with Cup 2's as I couldn't risk fitting these wheels to my brand new 718 CS while still under manufacturers warranty.

So, in conclusion, the answer is "yes" the 19" Spyder alloys will fit the 718 CS and clear the larger brake callipers ok without spacers. No wheel arch rubbing issues either.

Hope this helps answer your question.
