'73 911T Coupe Advice

Chaps,

I was wondering what the general opinion is on the 'T' version is compared with the 'E'....other than obviously the power difference ?

Any unique grey areas to consider, other than the obvious early 911 potential rust problems ?

Many thanks in advance,

Nick.

When looking at early 911s the most important factor to consider is the condition of the body and interior. A perfect 2.4T would be worth more than a poor S. In driving terms the T is a "soft" car, usually without antiroll bars, 130 bhp (when new), the E is in the middle, a nice torquey motor, with plenty of go (165 bhp). The S is the ultimate 2.4, with slightly stiffer suspension (again, when new), a/r bars both ends as standard and 190 bhp, delivered well up the rev band. They produce an exhilarating ride, even compared with modern cars, with a top speed over 140 mph and 0-60 around 6 seconds. The S is the most sought after, generally the better looked after, and now a very viable restoration project if you can find the right car as prices for the best cars now approach £100K

Many thanks Nick.

Car in question is a late RHD '73 ( non esr ), and allegedly a fairly standard example with a few factory extras such as Electric Windows ( 651 ) , Rear Wiper (425 ), Fuchs Alloys ( 485 ) etc, & fairly continuous history.

Do you feel this could be a viable long term proposition or best to search for an E or a below par S ?

Thanks,

Nick.
