73 Steering wheel

epoch911

New member
Hi...I have been looking at (what is reported to be) a '73 steering wheel with the following part number 914 347 809 00. It's 38cm diameter and there is an additional number 73 and 7 stamped in the centre. Is this the correct part number and wheel for a 73RS? And if so, any thoughts on price?

Many thanks

Ant

Hi Ant

There is no one single part number that is "correct" for the RS, the factory just fitted what it had to hand, but they were all 380 mm diameter with part numbers starting 914, so that wheel would be correct. It will need to modified to fit a 911 by drilling and tapping the back of the hub to fit the indicator cancelling ring. Price? Anything up to £500 depending on condition and how desperate you are.
