84 early dash, don't know what to do

Hi all, first post.
We ran this for a year hassle free (all original, found in storage and spent a month getting road ready) until the big end went kaboom. Am an amateur petrol head and on the advice of a friend, a ships engineer, we sourced an engine from a breakers - an'85, and he helped me change it.
The engine itself is sweet and smooth and shot us up the road no problem.
However, in the process (his exact words were if all else fails use a bigger hammer) the power steering and headlamp mechanism are kaput. the bonnet clip at the front is broken. It's hellish to get into gear - if at all.
I haven't the expertise or the money to sort any of this and said friend is now working somewhere near Russia.
Essentially I have a broken but lovely silver/blue 944 with one working engine and the remains of the old one lying next to it taking up the garage space.
Who would take on something like this?
We bought the original for 1800 squid and so for anyone who knows what they're doing it's going to be a relatively cheap bunch (well, an entire car's worth) of parts.
Help

Spend some time on it, i had one and persiveared with it. Check the gear linkage up the back i had a problem with it breaking up its about £80 to repair including parts so could be the problem! Also lift the gear gautor and you may see lots of play in the stick you can shim this a s a cheap but not very good repair but it does work.

ORIGINAL: xenon

Stick it on fleabay for a monkey.

As far as i've seen cars like that on ebay..there was a 1985 2.5 8V in need of new head gasket but in very nice condition just a few days ago..starting price £1200 - no bids..
