9 years and 3 Boxsters

Three years ago today I drove away from the Porsche dealer at Aldridge in my first Porsche, a 2.5 Boxster. Having been made redundant in April 2001 and accepting early retirement I found that I no longer needed a four seater saloon so after much consideration we decided that a Boxster was the answer. After many hours on the web I found a 1999 low mileage Arctic Silver Boxster with a good spec. so off to Aldridge, a good look around and a test drive later I rang my wife at work and said I've just bought a Porsche!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Boxster for 2 years, then found a high spec. 2001 Speed Yellow Boxster S. This was irresistible and became my pride and joy for 3 years of perhaps the best motoring of my life. In July 2007 I sold the Yellow one to my brother and took delivery of a new 987 3.4S Lapis Blue, Tiptronic, PASM and full leather. I have just completed 30k miles in this car, which brings me to close to 100k miles in Boxsters. The Yellow one is still owned by my brother and is his favourite ever car.
My cars have all been looked after by OPC Nottingham and I am delighted with the service I have always received from them. The Yellow one is now maintained by Zentrum, again with total satisfaction.
I have particularly enjoyed the after sales hospitality from Porsche, days at Elvington, MIRA and Silverstone plus excellent golf days and test drives of the full range of Porsche cars.
We have been delighted with our Boxsters.

Nice to see a positive message.

Boxsters are the nicest open top cars Porsche have ever built.

The latest ones will probably respresent the last of their type - as we move towards hybrid engines etc something is going to be lost in the process.

Buy em now whilst you still can and keep em forever.

Couldn't agree more having recently purchased my 6th Boxster since 1997

Apart from severe depreciation these cars have just got better and better with each face lift through the life cycles to date

From 2.5 to Gen 2 3.4 the Boxster delivers £ for £ the best value and the most fun one can have in a Porsche today

Let's hope the 988 keeps the car top of it's game still

How you finding the Spyder?

This sunny weather is certainly suiting mine, have had some nice trips out over the last few days.

"Sensational" but being a big time Boxster fan it's like cream on a delicious cake [;)]

Nice to get positives from time to time ...i have been a Porsche owner since 1993 and on my 10th car at present a 2006 987 2.7 Tip in Speed Yellow (best colour imo ) I have had it 4 years come July and touch wood has been faultless Prior to that I had a 2004 550 Tip anniversary model in GT Silver which I bought when it was 6 months old and only sold it as some one saw it at a show and made we an unbeatable offer ,again faultless .
Replaced it with a 996 till I sold it after a few months could not live with the colour (black ) a nightmare to keep clean never again .
Would I buy another Boxster yes but would loose to much just to trade up to a newer model no point especially as I now have my Speedster 356 rep for full hood down experience .

Common theme here, it was a 2.5 Boxster that first got me hooked on Porsche in 98. Had a 3.2S after that and then moved to 911s. OPC loaned me a 2.9PDK recently when mine was in for service.....brought it all back !!! Fantastic fun car, especially when the sun is shining [:)]
