Hi All
I last told you that I was thinking of buying the above Carrera, well guess what I did, it is a 1987 911 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe with documented 103,858 miles, it is actually in pretty good condition, considering it has been lying in a garden in all elements for 3 years (Not started or even moved in that time).
I paid £4750 and have now had it transported indoors to allow me to start work on it.
I have had the vehicle checked and to the best of our knowledge (touch wood) there are no major issues.
It does not start, but turns smoothly. Selects gears when pedal is pressed, brakes require overhaul, couple of perished bushes, and all rubber seals to be replaced, inside was soaking however it is now drying out nicely, seats in pretty good condition.
I will upload some pictures of it the way I found it in the garden if you like.
I have started stripping out the interior, to get rid of the dampness.
I would like to share this project with the guys on the forum, as I know that along with my Bentleys manual and the wealth of knowledge you guys have, I can get this completed and on the road for next spring. (ish).
I would like to document this with pictures and text at each stage but obviously don't want to get bogged down doing so as I want to spend most of my time at the car and not on the laptop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (It would be nice to have the whole thing on file to look back on.)
Says my pics are too large how do I reduce them.
