911 (997) Servicing (4-years)....

My C4S will be 4 years old in March, so will be due its second service (at around 28k miles). Currently the standard Porsche service pricing is not available online, as they need to update it to take into account VAT charges, so although I am awaiting a call back from my dealer (Tonbridge) I thought I'd post on here too:

A) What should the 4-year (major?) service cost?

B) Should they give a discount for Porsche Club GB members?

C) What additional requirements are there (presumably brake fluid change every 2 years)?

D) What else will they try and fleece me for (is 28k miles of mainly gentle to medium use likely to mean that brake pads / discs / new clutch etc are on the agenda?). I've noticed no problems with either"¦..

E) Anything else I should be aware of? I'll be retaining the Porsche warranty, so don't need any information about how the local Indie will do it for 50% of the price etc etc!

Cheers

Based on 4 years or 40K, I see you have only done the 28K but;

A) My last documents shows about £600 for a 4 year service,
B) Yes, 10% , some will do it on the entire bill others only on the parts- some people will rightly say save money by providing your own oil- I'm in the one bullet to fire camp
C) Yes, Brake fluid, drive belt £27 and replace tyre sealant on TPMS check £42
I would guess that they will go for the discs and pads, aircon clean and possibly a geometry check- with the Geometry check I'd says if its not been done then its a good option.
D) as per C

Slightly off topic, you may be interested in Ferrari F430 servicing costs:

Annual £1029.25
6250 miles £1849.41
18750 miles £1995.63
PAS fluid change every 2 years £190.25
Coolant every 2 years £225.61
Gearbox oil every 2 years £280.66
A/C every 2 years £388.70

And that is just for every 2 years!

Makes a Porsche seem rather cheap. [:D]

I'm never one to lose sight of my money!! [:D] Mind you, I have paid more than £110K for a car and driven around in a £3 shirt [:D]

All that said, I never pay for servicing or tyres. For obvious reasons!

As you said to me in the IOM,2yrs ago-you can't afford to buy secondhand cars-I thought then you must be a high flyer.[:)]
