911 anniversary or 996c4S?

[FONT=arial"]Hi new to the forum (having lurked for some time), I have a 40k budget, seen lots and lots of 911's so now I have the chance at a low mile C4S or 911 anniversary. I am leaning towards to the anniversary as there were only 1963 made worldwide and I believe 126 made it to the UK
Any thoughts from the forum - I need to make a decision this week!

I thought the C2 Anniversary was more of a marketing exercise than a "real" special/limited edition... which is why i decided to go for a C4S in the end... but i'm sure there are plenty who disagree (just a personal view).

fyi, if you're interested, my C4S will be going up for sale (as soon as i have time to take some pictures). Tiptronic, 2004, 18.5k mls, every single option (bi-xenons, extended leather, pcm, phone, parking sensors, sunroof, switchable sports exhaust, etc). Car is immaculate and still under OPC warranty. 1 previous keeper, 3 services (even though it only needed 2!) and new tyres.

apologies, i thought the x51 was an option on the anniversary. sorry!

fyi - have seen a low mileage anniversary (12.5k and apparently one lady owner) up for 43k. let me know if you'd like the details.

sounds nice but that is now 997 territory....

Dyllan,

43K is 997 territory? Just had look at Pistonheads to see how many were available.

3 at or under 43K 2 of them Cat D - so a little way further to go just yet I would suggest for a decent example?

45k for very nice examples at indys around the country if you look so 43 k privately is not impossible-ask guys on the 997 forum what they are being offered as p/ex on thier motors and you will find that they will be not surprised by that price -many have been offered very low 40`s

well I have peter Morgan inspecting the anniversary (at 39k) tomorrow...so will know if its a goer or not...this forum is spot on for help and advice. Cant wait to be in a 911 of my own!!

39k at that spec/miles/history looks very exciting.if peter says its as good as it sounds you will be one happy bunny[:D]good luck!

Might not be your cup of tea but I've just agreed a deal on my 996 C4S Cab 04/04 45k I'm the 3rd owner, FPSH, 12 months MOT, 6 months Tax, no Nav, Bose, small aluminium pack, manual, crested seats, child seat deactivation. P/x into a BMW (no comments please, its a work related change) which gets delivered next week. Can't imagine the dealer would mind not having to sell it!

I've dealt at £39k so anything above this would be a bonus, otherwise good luck and enjoy the ride!

Tappers thanks but I will probably put 12k per annum on, so 45k is a little over where I want to start...having said that I got peter morgan to look over the vehicle (good service). I have gone back to the dealer and pointed out the points that require rectification, so waiting to hear (eg heavy clutch indicating new one might be on the cards, so will dealer fix that before I buy).

Of interest is that although specs report 911 anniversays being pretty good for options - actually they vary greatly, eg I have looked at reports saying they all come with stainless steel, switchable exhaust - this one doesn't, it has no PCM either, does the forum think this matters (I use tomtom and this is fine) ?

I live on the Amersham area so a good indie recommendation would be welcome so I can spec the cost of a clutch replacement....+ a 48k service
