Hi all
So we had a heavy downpour a few weeks ago, and there was a lot of damp in the nearside passenger carpets and had a few days needing to be drained out. I know this is due to blocked drain pipes, and these are now cleared out (apparently the front ones were the cause, so I am unsure why this would lead to draining in the rear). Now of course the ECU is messed up and I think will need to be replaced at some time. I can go fine as it is, just that I need to use 3 locks to lock the car.
Can anyone give me an estimate as to how much a new ECU will be? I have seen posts of around £400, so that plus VAT and labour, I am guessing somewhere around £1,000?
Also, will this be a recurring issue, that I need to worry about leaving my car out in the rain in case it happens again? Anything I should be looking out for regularly to make sure everything is in good order? It seems nuts that a blocked drain can cause so much damage that it leaks onto the ECU, but there we go.
Thanks,
Dominic
