Hello. Am happy owner of vgc/immaculate, always garaged 911 Carrera 3.2, 1985, LHD, metallic silver, burgundy part cloth/leather seats, 6 way electric driver seat, radio/CD, service history, 39,000 miles only, immobiliser, Thatcham Cat 1 alarm, carrera cup wheels (17"), originals held, MOT May 2007, tax till end August 2006....Am considering change to 993 (coupe or targa) as part of my next experience in Porsche 911 world. I would likely be looking for c. £12,500 should i decide to sell. Any thoughts please?

My gut reaction is the price seems high. Aren't RHD similar prices? LHD are usually cheaper. Just my opinion, I may be mistaken. The market will tell you if you try it. Good luck.

I would have thought that the price seemed ok, it depends what you mean by vgc/immaculate since a lot of people have different views on that. Given the low mileage a RHD could easily fetch £15K+ even with a private sale. Silver is rare as well, but today is a very popular colour.

If you are a happy owner then don't sell it!! If you need to sell for financial reasons then try to be as patient as possible to connect with a buyer who wants the best. If the condition really is excellent and commensurate with the mileage, everything works perfectly etc... then £12.5K would seem to be a fair price to me.

Prices on the continent are firming up. If you checkout www.mobile.de you will see that IB cars are now no cheaper then UK prices (some strengthening of the Euro + greater interest in good cars).

Crystal ball time but if you can afford to hold on for another eighteen months + and maintain current condition then I think you will see strengthening interest. The best cars in Germany used to be had for 25% less than in the UK, now the situation seems to be reversing!! Wait till you can swap for a 996 and get change! - wont be very long!!
