911 Classic Car restoration Channel 5 tonight

New member
there is a programme on channel 5 tonight at 8 featuring a 911 classic car restoration for anyone who may be interested?

I'm going to record this to watch at a later date. If I hear bad reports I might just delete it.

I'm worried my car could get in this state in a few years time.

And they expect to make money from people entering the competition to win that car????? Those on here who know their 911's wouldn't touch it with a very long barge pole, and even with my limited thoughts about porkers with their engines at the wrong end, I would agree with them. As for their costings - it just proves that restoration is very seldom a money maker. Think of 4 mechanics x 21 days at what per day (actually paid to the mechanics, not what we pay for servicing!!) and their costings go right out the window.

If Channel 5 think they're going to challenge Ed and Mike with this rubbish, they're seriously deluded!

Unreal

Economics dont make sense how how many guys for how long? even at say 6 guys 50 hours a week 3 weeks 900 hours how little must they have paid and thats before the parts etc

Maybe we should all enter try and win it an give it a proper send off

C##p TV

Wot a shed [:D] £22K? They must be kidding.

That so called "Expert Porsche Valuer" in the matching orange trousers must have been on a massive back hander to value that pile of crap at £22k! risking his entire reputation into the bargain

As for the actual car [][][][][][] before and [&:][][&:][] after

Repeated on Thursday if you want another chance to cringe or laugh.

An SC with a 3.2 Carrera engine and some "expert" in the classic car market who put £22k on a bitsa with wrong front bumpers, seats, colour, rear spoiler....etc

Still, we all learned how a distributor works!

Well that is an excellent lesson in that one should not buy a 911 from that sort of dealer. In fact any sort of motor vehicle.

But people do! [:D]

Amazing.

Then, when they discover what they have got, they try to sell it on......

Wonder if the so called expert valuer got a call from his boss this morning or has he gone into hiding?

Well this post certainly got you talking - incidentally i didn't watch it!

For those of you still keen on tv after this there is a visit to the factory at stuttgart on nat geographic next week!!
