911 Club Sport vs. AMG 55

This evening I was invited around a friends house and during the night I met up with another mate who tossed me the keys to his 4 week old E55 AMG and said "Fancy a Drive ?"...

What could I say.

Being totally sober I welcomed the chance, and reluctantly accepted.

Regretfully [;)] this one had even been "breathed on" to produce a load more hp, so imagine if you will:-

5.7 litres
V8
Supercharged
550Bhp
and a little under 2 tons (ouch).

But this thing just FLEW. 3 up around the roads of Lecistershire we played with the radar cruise control, air adjustable suspension and all the toys you could ever see... (DVD / PS2 etc)

Just for fun, we measured the 30-50, 50-70, 70-XX and XX-XX times. 2secs, 2.5s, 2.6s 3s 2.8s. In fact, it felt too fast to measure !

Recommended. (LOL)

Steering was vague, woolly and totally "not" Porsche. Brakes were stunning considering the bulk. The driver thought that it felt not quite as quick as a 911 996 Turbo (X50) but had loads more grunt. I can't compare, but it was a little quicker than my 3.2

But.... that steering was the pits.

Driving home in the Mini Cooper, I felt much more in touch with the road for the same speed.

Just been looking at your car in GT purile nice photos of your car good bit of provenence eh!
