Has anybody noticed in Todays Topics and Since last visit thatalot of 96!,s,924/928/944 and others seem to have alot of problems ,but no real 911,s

Thats because when they were current models there was no internet to advertise the fact how bad some were.

Most are that old now they have been rebuilt that many times at a high cost to the numerous owners.

I had a 3.2 that cost ÂŁ'000's to put right.

My SC cost virtually nothing to run and never went wrong - but thats because at 21 years old it had done only 36k miles and was hardly ever used!

Given me modern any day!

And we're off!

Classic vs modern, air vs water, soul vs teutonic, alive vs numb, event vs boring, foibles vs perfection (boring again), now you've lit the blue touch-paper Peter, I hope you're standing well back [:D]

Mines 23 years old, 115k miles on the clock, not be rebuilt, still pulls like a train, only ever let me down once when the battery died on me, Dyno's 2 yaers ago at 245BHP

If you get a good one, it will proabaly out last they are rock solid and reliable

Nope, old is best [:D] I would never buy new.... never. [:)]

Derek - go wash your mouth out with soap and no water! A man who speaks with forked tongue like you is stirring the proverbial!

Just so that everyone knows:

Dereks Previous: Boxster 2.5, Boxster S, 996 Targa, 997S, Cayman S x2, 997 C2 & C2S WERE ALL NEW!!!!! [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Derek, once said to me when I was talking to Derek Lords son at an IOM Dinner specifically about the costs of buying cars--"I can't afford to buy anything but New Cars"[:)]

I was hoping you'd keep quiet about that Paul - you've blown your original arguement right out of the water now!
Then again to counter yours, there's mine at 105,000 miles, no leaks, no smoke and the case has never been split. Oh, and a VERY satisfying shove in the back whan the pedal hits the metal...!
