Last months mag stated that there would be a feature on two low mileage 944's in the next issue, out today, well don't rush to buy it because they were obviously offered another 911 and dropped the 944 feature completely []

Don't believe what they tell you !!

since they also advertised the 911 at 40 perhaps they drove them side by side and discovered how superior the 944T is to it's rear engine cousin but were too afraid to put it in print in the same issue...:)

Pete

I have stopped buying it as it's totally pish now. I read the history of Porsche bit in Sainsburys and then put it back.If it's not an advert for paul stevens then its malton. Can't be bothered any more.
In fact if I was in the market to buy and saw a car in Paul Stevens or Malton I wouldn't go and look or buy them just because the magazine has given me a sickening impression of them.

Totally agree with you Pete'. I stopped buying 911 world ages ago because the only thing ever in there is.........911's [:(]!!

As a 911 owner and 911 & PW subscriber I also think the mag is largely tat but not because it is mainly 911. I just think a lot of the writing us weak with errors

I suspect that the modern cars are just so boring that they have done everything and there is nothing else to say. They used to write about great cars created by readers but there seams to be less of it,

Some months it seems to be almost all Tipler and his stuff is almost travelogue rather than about the cars.

And why oh why do they insist on printing black text on dark backgrounds that are unreadable.
Still it's better than good house keeping[:D]

I think it's widely accepted that the printed media is in decline, most magazines are 75% adverts now, single marque publications must find it very hard to bring something fresh to the table but at least the Porsche cars featured are usually nice examples, I have seen some proper tat used in Ford publications to fatten out the pages.

Cheers, Paul

For the past several months, 911&PW has been worth buying for Keith Seume's 'Porsche Archive' articles alone - but then he can always be relied upon to write intelligent and entertaining copy. However, when they finish, I might be a bit more reluctant to put my hand in my pocket...
KS's own Classic Porsche magazine more than meets my needs for regular Porsche reading.

I know Keith from way back [:D]. He's a very knowledgeable chap regarding Porsche and Volkswagens, Just a shame he doesn't
consider 944's" classic" enough for his magazine nor, writes about them [8|].

Agreed - but as you know, Keith's love is for anything air-cooled and it's his mag so the lack of water-cooled Porsche's is understandable (if not necessarily excusable). Maybe he should have named it 'Air-Cooled Porsche'?

Having bought my copy yesterday, I have to agree that the blatant 'Product Placement' (including the front cover!) spoils the independant pretence. Then there's page after page ruined by having 'in association with fvd BROMBACHER' written in the corner!

It's called 'advertorial' and is common place now.

None of these magazines have any real editorial credibility these days. They won't bite the hand that feeds them.

Were there the guys who ran a large article a few years ago about the 944, with the headline "994"?

Oli.
