Anything considered: but a complete RHD coupe, any model, any condition (literally).

01435 830153 (East Sussex: but happy to travel [;)])

Thank you,

Barry

No, its a big bumper car; whats left of it! Spotted it on fleabay yesterday. Did remind me of the last project though

Thanks Phil, the search is continuing apace, with a few possibles beginning to crop up: I'll keep you upto date on any progress [:)].

Thanks Phil, the car is a 912, and has now been completed.

I'm hoping to unearth something before a dealer's got there: I'm in no hurry as I've got a 914 to play with in the meantime. Having said that, if the right car appears I could move on it today [;)]. Thanks again, since we're in the same area, you might well end up seeing whatever I buy.

Have you seen this website,

www.apincorporated.com

They sell on ebay so I imagine would like a cash deal.

Regards, David.

Hi Barry, I noticed the tel. area code was only a few miles away. I thought of retromobile becuase a couple of years ago I was looking at early 911 in need of restoration - they were either going to do it or sell it on for someone else to do. I didn't go ahead but reading your post it struck me they might have something 'round the back'

Understand what you mean by getting in before the dealers, though. No point in paying their bit on top.

One other route, also close to home, is Nick Moss at early 911, a regular on the forum, a good guy, and based just outside Crowborough. He might keep a look out for a suitable project. www.early911.co.uk

[:D]

You know what I mean, no offence, Nick!

I certainly wouldn't exclude a dealer, but they've obviously got overhead, and reasonably enough, need to turn a profit, so my budget dictates that chances are that I would be buying privately.

I have done a few £'s of trade with Nick over the last couple of years, and I'm sure there will be plenty more in the future [:)].

P.S. Thanks for the tip on Calafornia Connection, David: I've spoken with Miranda. They've got one possible which I might view, but because of their costs and overhead, its top-dollar. Very original though. I'm impressed with the way she deals with enquiries as well: loads of ace photo's, and tres helpful.

It certainly has a wild colour schem:

Thanks, Ant, I've been watching this one, although there seems to be a reserve on it now: I can't remember seeing one before: perhaps I just missed it.

Yes, like the colours, very classy! In a way, it's a shame it's got the plate on it, as it's probably skewing the price (or reserve at least) a bit, and you won't be able to 'cash the plate in' until the car's tested again.

Good project though: the early big bumper cars are really growing on me at the moment [:)].

Thanks again!

TOP MARQUES WEBSITE have a 964C2 Tip Coupe with oily engine and smoke otherwise good RHD asking only £8000..........worth a google....

Hi Barry, A backdated 964???? [:D] How about it then? A man of your talents with metal and engines could sort it in no time!

You'd have to say, 964's are looking pretty good value at the moment: nice looking as well. Still a bit too much £££'s by time you've done the work though?

Must chase up an SC that I was offered a while ago: perfect for backdating: suppose I 'm still holding out for an earlier car if poss, although as I say, I like the early narrow bodied big bumper cars as well

Hi Will,

hadn't really considered importing, but having looked at your links, there certainly seems to be plenty of possibilities out there: food for thought! Many thanks!

Hi, I had a look at a 77 Carrera 3.0 recently in Norfolk. I had an inspection done which indicated that it needed more work that I wanted to get involved with. There has been alot of mechanical work done already. I have been looking for a good Carrera 3.0 for some time now (pref coupe), if any one knows of one, but I thought that you may be interested in the one that I had inspected.

I can give you his email address if you like. It may be sold, I don't know, but if you want the address you can email me and I will send it to you. I don't want to post his address here. My email address is ciaranocallaghan@eircom.net or ciaran.ocallaghan@mwp.ie

Regards,

Ciaran

This old chestnut actually shared a barn with my original 911: both flatnosed LHD cars from Germany, brought in for trackdaying. Just happened that mine was a '73 2.4T, rather than this 180 BHP SC.

The owner phoned me up responding to an ad, and offered it to me: it was only afterwards I realised which car it was: if it was an early one, I'd consider it (911 deja-vue!)

Ciaran, mail sent [:D] Many thanks!
