Sorry to be a pain, but I wonder if someone could help with this one.
I am trying to establish if the spacesaver spare wheel I bought for my Cayman that I have just sold will be okay to use on my 997 S2 Carrera?
I have tried it for size on the front wheel and it fits, but the back of the alloy wheel only just and I mean only just clears the front brake calliper!
It's not catching or scraping or anything but I am concerned that even moderate cornering forces may twist the wheel sufficiently to cause damage to the calliper (appreciating the fact that it is a get you home at restricted speed obviously).
The markings on the wheel are 996.362.130.01 (Porsche part number I assume) and 105/95 R17 90M, 3.5J X 17 ET19. I am thinking the 996 may be for the 996 911?? and maybe the 997 has larger discs, hence the reduced clearance, but I am only guessing.
Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.
Barry.
