Hi All,

Picked up my 996 Turbo today what an awesome car never driven anything quite like it it's so different to the Carrera 2 in so many ways. The acceleration is nothing short of incredible and the grip for a fast start from a set of traffic lights is just amazing.

Speechless and about go out in it again......[:D]

Thanks

I'm glad you're pleased. Enjoy.
The traction is the one of the things that are most noticeable.
Once it is yours, it is a different experience to a test drive.
Blasting away from toll booths is my favourite - better than traffic lights. You can surpise most other people. Slip roads are also pretty good and joining motorways is very easy.
It is quite a different experience to a normally aspirated car. I just love the shove in the back you get when on full boost - the non linear delivery is what makes turbo cars exciting.

You'll find that you will drive it more than you expected. The miles pile on very fast. Still it was built for driving and I would rather replace things coz the have worn out than because they have aged or perished.

It was a good day for driving today - nice and dry.
I went out for a short blast to clean the brakes up since it was damp, salty and horrible when I drove home last night.
For a change I had it flat to the floor. It has been damp and greasy for so long now I had forgotten quite how quick it is. I think I must be becoming too cautious.
Although you do need to be careful since I had it understeer and had the ABS going on the salt.

I can't wait for the spring and dry clean roads, so you can drive with a bit of confidence.
