my cousion has a RS4...and i just love it...but the Turbo has alway been like wow...
though must say the porsche dealer offered me £14K for my M5 in P/X and the Audi dealer offered me £8K...so oviosuly thats a + point on my side..
Okay....someone tell me why i should buy a 911
Running and serviceing costs etc...any common issues that i need to look out for...
...and i am sure you will do a much better job then a Sales Rep working for Porsche... ;-)

You're comparing apples with oranges... except both are fast.
So if the only reason you're willing to consider both is that they are fast, then the TT is FASTER.
Go TT.

i loooked at an rs4 when i couldn't find a decent turbo. It was a great car and in a couple of years will make a great second car[] But its nowhere near as quick as the turbo and i couldn't justify £50k on an audi saloon that looked the same as a £20k audi to most of the public! It had an ace interior (style and purpose) but didn't have a wow factor and didn't seem any quicker than my facelift Carrera 2. The turbo on the other hand is nothing short of fast and, where i live is still a rare-ish sight. Have a shot of a turbo and pretty sure if you don't need the space you'll buy one. Only probs is what to go for after it[

Really...i did'nt thing the C2 is quicker then the new RS4...though i loved the RS4 interior, however the 911 interior is the same throughout the range in all the models...
Well...i have a 4month old baby...and the sales men said..that if my babyseat dnt fit in the back Porsche do one that will...i guess its a different question if the baby will fit it though.. lol
Not find a decent Turbo..i am thinking its a top car, owned by carefull drivers who do more then just rag it from A to B..well i could be wrong..but really did not want to go through that hassel and end up with a pipe of KaK...
whould it be better to get a used one from a Porsche dealer?

good reason for that having checked autocar carrera 2, 0-60 4.6s, 0-100 10.1, rs4 0-60 4.5, 0-100 10.5ORIGINAL: samuk

Autocar times 0-60 3.9, 0-100 9.4
rs4 0-60 4.5, 0-100 10.5
maybe these show difference a bit better, 70-90mph
carrera 6th 7.1 5th 5.2 4th 3.6
rs4 6th 5.8 5th 4.7 4th 3.7
turbo 6th 4.7 5th 3.7 4th 3.0

So, basically, you can't be in the wrong gear in a turbo. [

Intresting...having a M5 at present, yes its a family car..and convinient, but the performance figures of the TT are very impresive..Did go out to a shop looking for a Porsche Magazine...but noone has them...any recomendations on which one of were i could get it from?
My brother in Germany at present who also has a M5, was left for dust by a Turbo S, well it was more like come from nowhere and disapeared whilst he tried every gear to keep up.... lol
Okay...i cant take this anymore....I WANT one...but seems noone is buying cars at present or it could just be the M5's.... [&:]

They have been dropping in value over the last 2 years - but prices have settled over the last 6 months. I would buy from a Porsche main dealer - you will get a 1 year warranty and then its £895 (or so) to extend the warranty annually thereafter, if anything goes wrong a 996tt its big money to repair.
Performance wise - theres very little in it. Both are more than quick enough on public roads although the porker would be a little quciker on the track.
In the RS4 defence - it does have a superb engine note and a beautiful interior and is extremely well built.
One issue with the 996tt - it does attract a lot of negative attention (probably more than a RS4) which can become a pain after a while.
Anyway - the porker is probably more fun to own and that counts for a lot!
enjoy,
