Hi does any one know how many 911s targas were built with the magnesium engine in that revs to 7300 my friend has one and just wondered how many there are thanks paul

1968: 442
'69:614
'70:729
'71:788
'72:989
'73:925

But as Nick said: a model year might help. Because the above production figures are the overall output, but if it is a RHD there might be a lot less of them still standing.

Also, what engine number does the car have (omit the last two digits for XX if you like) ?

Nick surely is best placed to gauge how many there are still left on the market worldwide and RHD markets in particular.

Regards,

Bert

Thanks for the input i don,t know what year or engine no yet i know it,s got the zipped in rear screen not the glass one i will try to get some more details paul.

If it has the zipped "soft window" than it is RARE! Only made in '67 and '68 (possibly '69?). Mag cases only used for mid 68 MY onwards so my money, (and I mean it) would be on a 1968 soft window S Targa. The VIN and engine number would be useful.

Ref. RHD 2.4S Targa numbers built. I have quoted this statistic
before, from Trading Post Sep. '96 ( Mark Wareing ) to be 46.

Colin Palmer '73 2.4S Targa ( RHD )
p.s. Just missed the Tax-exempt deadline ! B----r.
