911T 2.4...What a find

I've just imported this lovely little gem from California and it just keeps getting better and better.

A one family owned car with original Invoice, service book etc etc.

It arrived last week and now we've had a chance to get under it.

A 73 2.4 Coupe and 47k. This car is unbelievable original, I don't think I've ever seen one so hard.

Paint flat and sun damaged. Car still wears all its factory stickers etc.

Hi Lee.

Just looked through the pictures and that looks lovely. Congratulations on finding this and what great provenance.

What are your plans for the car?

Ian.

Thanks Chaps

Im going to take care to preserve as much of its originality as possible but it does need to be painted. A very sympathetic paint job not touching door shuts so as to preserve the original factory stickers etc

Congratulations on your find Lee.
The car underneath looks excellent even down to the plating on the front anti roll drop link.
I am intrigued by what lies behind the NSF headlight bowl and on top of the NS battery box, is that a washer bottle ?
I see it is on Pirelli CN36 tyres, I liked that tyre but they are no longer available so could be quite old, care needed on them.
To drive it in UK you will need to change the headlights ( or at least to blank off the dip right lenses) and replace the side light lenses with European type lenses with black trim edges.

Thanks Robin, I'm very excited about this car.

I have just imported this and another, a 71 2.2 for my young Son (lucky boy) hence my mixed questions on other threads.

Yes that's the washer bottle, I assume this is not the normal place? Where would it normally be since my Sons car doesn't have washers at all.

The drop links are amazingly clean...I marvelled at these too.

Yes the new tyres are being fitted as we speak. I too like the CN36's

With the other car we are planning on stripping it out a bit as it's not quite as nice as this and maybe get RS lightweight style interior.

Looks stunning. Can I ask where did you find the car, eBay or just trawling through classic car or similar?

I found the 71 on ebay.com and took a flier tbh but for the money I couldn't go too wrong given what I had seen.

He then offered me the 73 with lots of pics and this was better than I imagined......its so complete right down to the tool roll, compressor etc

I haver never seen an early 911 with its washer bottle in that location under the front N/S wing. The reservoir is normally in the luggage compartment and is much smaller that that shown in your photograph. Does anyone know if the reservoir is from a later model of 911?
Where is the filler cap for the reservoir, is it under the fuel filler cap?

That's not the washer bottle - it's part of the fuel tank 'venting' system used on US cars.

Lee - the washer bottle should be in the n/s/f corner of the luggage compartment (down by the battery) with the neck/filler protruding throught the bonnet slam panel.
