Hello Dan,

Fantastic choice of a car. First priority is rust rust rust

Second priority is originality and state of the mechanicals. Best is to equip yourself with

and possibly also the Brett Johnson book "a restorers guide to authenticy".

Do have the car inspected by someone who knows these EARLY 911 cars. They differ in expensive details from, say a 3.2 carrera or a 993 so whatever you do, have a pre purchase inspection done. The price sounds cheap but then again, there is no such thing as a cheap porsche....[;)]. Its all dependant on condition.
There is also another porsche forum out there www.ddk-online.com which is focussed on the pre 1974 porsches; you might find some info there as well.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Bert
