912 356 Crank Grinding..

912UK

New member
Ok as per my trip to France this week I need to get my orginal engine up and running so I can chase a few 911's so I have a contact for grinding but I am not sure. I want it to go a machine shop that can and has done Cranks before for early Porsche. So I quizzed him and he said he has done early porsche cranks and it would cost £200 for a grind /polish and crack test of it. Sounds sensible money and I am sort of happy but deep down I am worried he is just saying Yes to the work.

Any one know of any good crank grinders sort of my way Eg
Oxford to Southampton or as wide as Salisbury to London..
