912 help

hi all,

i've come across a 912 for sale here (in singapore), they are a very rare beast in most places, but far more so here.

can anyone point me in the right direction for having it checked out? i'm looking for info like what parts should be on it to make it correct for year, what are the signs to tell if it's an original car, where can i get a list of part / VIN numbers to help identify the car / options, what common trouble spots should i look for etc etc

bascially any 912 buying / assessing tips would be very welcome!!

thanks in advance

We have a buyers guide (simple) on our Register site, it also recommends a few books that will get you started.
Email me the vin and engine and I can check if they tally.
Cheers
Gavin

thanks gents, i have been trawling the sites you mentioned and have learned a lot!

i found a car that seemed too good to be true and then i found out why - he is asking the equivalent of GBP95,570 for it!
