912 Silencer

Hi Guys

I've got a 1966 912 and the silencer has recently started blowing badly, it was welded for the last MOT so I think probably beyond repair. So would anyone please have a decent secondhand one for sale.

Kind regards

Mark

Mark,
Just happend across your post by chance. (Had a 912 in the 1970's, after a 356SC and loved it). May I suggest a possibility to you. Take off your rotten silencer and send it to JP Exhausts in Macclesfield to copy in stainless.
I had the same problem with my 1975 3.0 Turbo, with no replacements available.

JP copied it expertly at very reasonable cost. The trade use them extensively and then double the cost to the end customer. I have used them several times since and always pleased. They may already have the pattern and not need your old one.

Chris.

Hi Chris

Many thanks for your email and advice, I've managed to find a silencer on ebay (from Portugal of all places) for a good price. It's hard to believe how expensive they are normally (£300 plus). Happy motoring.

Kind regards

Mark
