I beleive that the Club is still looking for 912's for the Register Display at Eynsham Hall. They are looking for RED, WHITE & BLUE cars for the main display.
The car shoiuld be in standard (Looking) specification to represent the type.
As there will be no Rgister Parking this year it is your one chance to put your pride and joy in a prominent position.
If you are interested, contact Barry Smith at slantnose@porscheclubgb.com as he is the display coordinator.

Oh do explain more no Reg parking why's that???

I thought that was a good thing we did last time....I was going to bring my 54 on the trailer in it's new paint job ( not finished just a shell ) as it would be a good way to get a car there and get as much info and responces from other 356 memebers to point out bits on the car as I finish the resto. So if no Reg parking I guess it's public parking is what your saying.. [:-] no point bringing it then.. what a shame...I just feel there was more interaction with the reg parking than a display ( which you can still do as well as reg parking ) do tell us more Geoff..

oh as for colours that's me out I only got silver and burgandy

so why didn't Barry or whoever post this themselves. or do all directors have their typing fingers cut off upon election [;)][:D][:D][:D]

I don't understand the reason for the no Register area's. I mean I met up at the other PCGB events and it's just a display and area for cars to be parked in the public car park.. I saw less people and came away not having seen the people I needed to catch up with..

With the register tents we could all meet up and chat and sort allsorts of quires out about the cars as we were all next to each other and new owners could come up and introduce themselves and woodbe buyers of that mark..

It's clear to me ( I hope others ) that reg tents and area's for the register and their cars are the best way to ge the best out of the show. Then still have a display for cars on the front lawn.

What is this a show for the public or a show for the memebers?

Sorry to be a thorn and all that. But if it's a case of no car on display I might as well bring my Merc VAN and park in Public car park..

Or sorry but the 912 register USA national event is on the weekend before buy a plane ticket and borrow a 12 I have been alowed to use for the event.

What do others think?

Barry isn't a Director. He lost out by 27 votes. He is just a member trying to help the Club. Someone has to.

Helen why do you keep doing this?
You are an officer of PCGB and should support the Club (note I said Club not the Board) Going off on one and saying 'I wont be there' is wearing a little thin.

If you can't do the job, resign... Again.

Sorry about the lack of tact but this time it has got through.

what ever, im more than happy to step down if someone else want the job.(and it is a job) i know i have never been a popular member of the club, (thats fact) as you well know Geoff the only reason i stepped down last time was that Larry had become a director and i we wern't able to continue doing the two jobs at the same time.
. attending Eynsham for the whole week-end would cost me well over a hundred pounds. to be totally honest its money i would rather spend in another way.

Brands hatch last year cost me the best part of £1,000 to attend and i got nothing but grief for it.

as i said i am sick and tired of the politics of the club getting in the way of running a region. so yes maybe it is time i resigned

ops.. Us 12'ers love you Helen [sm=kiss.gif]

My Comments Geoff are constructive and I am not having a go. I do think a nice display on the lawn for the usual show queens is and always a good thing. But I think it's not a good idea to not have the area's set aside for the individual models. As last time I thought it was a very good idea and worked well..

I know all the hard work that goes in to the event and the people that do it are very dedicated.. but I know the show will not change as I guess the board have chosen the route to go. So I think Jo and I will be off to the US 912 national event..sorry.. I seam to be using my 12 less and less for PCGB events as the years go on..

Helen you and Larry coming we can get upto 60!!!! and 912's and a number of 356's and 914's and 911's Plus great driving roads in North Ca in the hills and the weather is HOT HOT HOT...912 reg guys and girls are a very laid back bunch Jo and I had a GREAT time on the last run.. ( Jo even wanted to do more runs ,,she's never said that in the UK..)

With you all the way on this one 912UK (well, not all the way to CA, unfortunately [:D]). The word 'club' seems to be taking less and less significance in the current direction we're going.

The club atmosphere is felt by the registers getting together at national events. It's one of the main (perhaps only) reasons for attending a national - the chance to meet fellow owners you'd not normally see, and talk about your particular cars in detail. You could do a local event just to be with Porsche owners, for a lot less cost.

I see Paul on the 924 forum is saying there will be register parking as well as the red/white/blue area? So, as last year, we have conflicting information about what is going on..........[&:]. It doesn't improve does it?

Time to start thinking about the Porsche Club Great Britain main event of the year. There will be Register parking of course so I need to start getting an idea of who intends to attend - and on which day/s
.........

There is also a themed display this year which is 'Red, White and Blue' which means we need two cars each of the three colours. The first three cars will be shown on the (seperate) main themed display and the others will head the Register parking area.

Phil

Well lets hope things are sorted and made clear for all.

Still more interested in my local VW Car shows and couple of Ca trips this year. As things stand at the mo. But will keep an eye on the happenings..

I'll see what's what at the workers conference this weekend. Have to say, I think it's a shame . . . suppose it's a space thing, but we'll see.

If register areas can't be done, I'm going to try and organise a pre 74 parking area in the porsche parking area.

Phil

HI all,, their will be register parking........ we are dotting the eyes and crossing the tee's as we speak,,, more news at the w/e Barry

arr that's good to hear for you all. I know when Geoff posted I bet he thought oh dear he's off. But no the reg parking I think is the right cobination. As I know from the 912 side and when I walked over to do the 356 side although thin on the ground. It was very good to meet up with the other members and their cars. AND to be able to talk about the cars and show the car to you and them because though out the year we have been helping each others car porbs on line so when you see the car in front of you it's much more easy and esp as it's parked next to your own car.. I help other members and others helped me on that day.. Good discion for a change..

Hope the weather stays good for you all..
