First post as a new member.
Just purchased my first 911 a 3.2 Carrera (1984). I have been driving Porsche cars for many years but it would seem I have met my match with this car. The heavy clutch is not a problem, the problem is finding the bite point on the clutch pedal when trying to get away from traffic lights etc.
The pedal travel is long and I am wondering if a [FONT=arial"]Rennline Aluminum floor board and dead pedal, drivers side [FONT=verdana, geneva"]may be the answer? Would the board give me a shorter base to work from in finding the the clutch bite position? Has/have any members used or come across this item? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Maybe more practice is needed but in heavy traffic I am finding it a handful.

Hi
As the clutch gets older thay get heavier and makes it harder to control,
most need a new clutch every 10 years or 80k. This will also improve gear change.

Charles.

The clutch was changed some 5,000 miles ago. My problem is finding the bite point on the pedal due to the length of pedal travel and then balancing that with the accelerator. In heavy traffic it is awkward probably due to not driving the vehicle enough. The clutch seems to be either off or on very quickly.
More practice seems to be the order of the day. Thanks for your reply.

Just a thought make sure the omega Spring is not broken.
And the clutch adjustment is set Correctly

Charles.
